AP - Obama victory sparks cheers around the globe
PARIS – Barack Obama's election as America's first black president unleashed a renewed love for the United States after years of dwindling goodwill, and many said Wednesday that U.S. voters had blazed a trail that minorities elsewhere could follow.
...
"Your victory has demonstrated that no person anywhere in the world should not dare to dream of wanting to change the world for a better place," South Africa's first black president, Nelson Mandela, said in a letter of congratulations to Obama.
...
"This is the fall of the Berlin Wall times ten," Rama Yade, France's black junior minister for human rights, told French radio. "America is rebecoming a New World. On this morning, we all want to be American so we can take a bite of this dream unfolding before our eyes," she said.
...
In Britain, The Sun newspaper borrowed from Neil Armstrong's 1969 moon landing in describing Obama's election as "one giant leap for mankind."
...
"What an inspiration. He is the first truly global U.S. president the world has ever had," said Pracha Kanjananont, a 29-year-old Thai sitting at a Starbuck's in Bangkok. "He had an Asian childhood, African parentage and has a Middle Eastern name. He is a truly global president."
USA Today - Citizens around the world hail the Obama victory
LONDON — From Beijing's streets to France's Elysee Palace, common citizens and leaders of the world greeted Barack Obama's election largely as a sign of hope that America would mend torn international relations and lead the way out of global economic turmoil.
...
Australian Prime Minister Kevin Rudd said, "Senator Obama's message of hope is not just for America's future, it is also a message of hope for the world as well. A world which is now in many respects fearful for its future."
NY Times - Election Unleashes a Flood of Hope Worldwide
PARIS — From the front lines of Iraq to more genteel spots like Harry’s Bar in Paris, the election of Barack Obama unlocked a floodgate of hope that a new American leader will redeem promises of change, rewrite the political script and, perhaps as important as anything else, provide a kind of leadership that will erase the bitterness of the Bush years.
...
The final moments of the election were covered in obsessive detail far from America. In Australia, radio stations interrupted their shows to broadcast the Obama acceptance speech. In Berlin, newspapers printed special editions.
...
The French president, Nicolas Sarkozy, said something on similar lines. “Your election raises in France, in Europe, and elsewhere in the world, an immense hope,” he said in a message that called Mr. Obama’s victory “brilliant” and his campaign “exceptional.” Chancellor Angela Merkel of Germany called his victory “historic” and invited Mr. Obama to return to Berlin, where he addressed a huge rally during his campaign.

Damn... I've never been more inspired than I am right now.
9:00 PM - A NEW AMERICA
The Revolution will now be televised. The world's view on the United States will change for the better starting tonight. This is history. We are all witnesses.
8:00 PM - PRESIDENT BARACK OBAMA!!!!!!!
oh shit I just started crying.. I don't give a fuck! Thank God!
7:15 PM - McCain aides see "no path to victory".
I want Michael Buffer to announce the presidential winner on national TV. "The winner by majority electoral votes and NEEEEEWWWW..."
5:40 PM - BARACK OBAMA IS PROJECTED TO WIN PENNSYLVANIA!!
GAME OVER?!
12:00 PM - McCain predicts victory.
Bullshit. Cheaters.
9:00 AM - Barack The Vote
I have to say that it feels good to finally vote. It was pretty easy but I think the computer polls are waaay too complicated. There's too much room for error. And why is Barack Obama all the way in the bottom of the ballot? Are they trying to hide him? There were probably 30-40 people there in line to vote and I saw my cousin. Shout out to my cousin Markie for voting!
Anyways I still don't know what to expect with the outcome of this election. I still vividly remember Al Gore being declared President in 2000 elections before Bush STOLE it. Please don't do us dirty this time!
Yo Vote. I Voted.
My elections poll was at OLM aka The Dynasty.
1:30 AM - Why I Am Voting for Barack Obama...
There’s a saying that goes “the only thing constant in life is change.”
In Spring of 2007, my last semester at San Diego State, I wrote a paper about how I am inspired by change and people that affect change in the world and that I believe that the greatest form of change is progress and growth. No matter where you are in your life, there is always hope because there will always be change. Over our lifetime we have experiences and knowledge that help us grow as human beings and as long as we have time, there will always be hope to better ourselves and progress through life. We have all already learned by now that life is full of ups and downs, highs and lows. It is the hope that things will change for the better that gets us through the difficult times. It is growth that allows us to evolve everyday into the person that we are and the person that we will become. It is our hope that allows us to strive to succeed in whatever aspect of life we value. It is our progress through life that leads us to achieve what we set out to do.
Not only do I believe that it is important to grow personally but I also believe that it is important to help others around us grow or help change a part of someone else's life for the better. I am fortunate to be surrounded by family and friends that personify these ideals which is why on my Myspace, I say that I am "inspired by the people closest to me." It is also important for our society to progress because what goes on in our society affects us. Imagine this world without the progress in social equality and human rights. We most likely wouldn't even be here right now.
And so I am voting for Obama, not because of all the media hype nor because another person said to, but I am voting for him because he represents these ideas and ideals that are important to me. He represents social progress by being the first minority to become the presidential candidate of a major party. He inspires people to strive to achieve their dreams over adversity and against all odds when others may think it is impossible. He strives to provide opportunities for people that need help the most and to lead this country in changes in alternative energy and reformed health care. He gives people hope that things will change for the better.
Obviously I am not the only one voting to Obama for these reasons, but I just wanted to share some of my reasons for supporting Obama. So when you see me repping Obama on my shirt or on myspace or on the blog, its because I truly believe in the importance of electing him as the next President of the United States. This isn't American Idol, America's Best Dance Crew or the ESPY's. This is about our lives and our future forreeeeaals... and people are still sleeping on this election. But now its time to vote.... make your vote count.
Peace!

Bullshit. Cheaters.
(CNN) — An energetic John McCain held a last-minute campaign event in Colorado Tuesday, during which he predicted a come-from behind victory in the race for the White House.

Business As Usual, Vol. 3: Lunch at the Carnelian Room
Well, today's market drop was worse than yesterday's. But after the market hit another 5 year bottom this morning, I got to have lunch all the way at the top of San Francisco. This is the view from the Carnelian Room on the 52nd floor of the Bank of the America building, where I just attended a lunch presentation. And they served the best chicken I have ever had, seriously.
(taken from my iPhone)
Anyways, I just wanted to mention one thing from the presentation. One of the speakers was this guy, Stan Collender, who has worked most of his life in Washington D.C. and has worked on the federal budget. Well, he said he follows all the polls and they now show Obama up by more than 6% and up to 9%. He is now beating McCain in some states that George Bush had previously won, and this whole election has gone from a toss up right into the hands of Obama in just a matter of a couple weeks because everyone is now blaming the Republicans for the financial collapse. With McCain recently pulling out of Michigan, he said this week will be McCain's last stand.
So although our economy is all f'ed up, atleast we'll have Obama as our President. I guess that's a consolation.

Sarah Palin
If you guys didn't already know, I absolutely despise Sarah Palin. And all the comedians laugh about it and shit and make fun of her. It's all fun and all, but I read this article about real reasons why she shouldn't be our vice/would-be president. So if you want, if you care i mean, read this article:
