The meaning of Thanksgiving...

What does Thanksgiving mean to you? For me, it's that time of year when we all take the time to stop our hectic fast-paced lives and really think about what we're thankful for in our lives. We're all so busy nowadays and it seems we only get busier as we get older. Busy in a sense that so many things run through our minds, not so much that we're up and out doing things consistently. Thanksgiving is the time of year when we put all those things aside and realize where we're at in life and be thankful for everything that has brought each and every one of us to this point in life. So, Thanksgiving to me is...

...being thankful for our loved ones - family, friends, significant others
...being thankful for being able to live long enough to read this post
...being thankful to eat all i've eaten this holiday season, when there's people out there who would kill for that grain of rice you left on your plate
...being thankful for all the things i "needed" to buy, knowing damn well billions of other people, past and present, have lived long lives without them
...being thankful for the simple things in life

• Granted it was a "family emergency," couldn't he have just left a quick simple message saying he can't make it? He's rich enough to pay an agent to call the team and tell them he can't make a meeting. $117,500?!?! A rich person's yearly income thrown down the drain because he couldn't be responsible enough to leave a short message. There's a lot i might not know about this family situation, so my apologies if it was a lot more serious than what the press made it out to be.

- On Oct. 19, against the 49ers he abused an official and tossed a ball into the stands

• This incident cost him $45,000. WOW! Take a second to think about that. Some of us entering the workforce at our age are making more or less than that in a year. Think about all the work you've done this past year go down the drain because you couldn't control your temper for a few minutes. Ouch! Be a professional, shit's gonna happen at work. Try your best to work around it, it might cost you.

Plaxico has a history of acting up since entering the NFL. He need to shape up and realize some things this holiday season. Well actually, not really. He's STILL rich, he STILL is alive despite getting shot, and he STILL has a job in the NFL. But for us 'normal' people, we should be thankful for what we have, because some of us just aren't as blessed as Mr. Plaxico Burress.

So Curry decided to test the triangle-and-2 defense taken to the ultimate extreme. He went into the corner and two defenders followed him, setting up a 4-on-3 for his teammates.

Curry decided to keep standing there, and his teammates kept scoring -- for 40 minutes -- in a 78-48 head-scratching win for the Wildcats (No. 25 on ESPN/USA Today, No. 24 AP) that will be remembered for some time.

The nation's leading scorer was held without a point and took only three shots. But the game was never in doubt because Davidson played the entire game on a virtual power play.

All this was courtesy of a bizarre coaching move by Loyola's Jimmy Patsos.

"We had to play against an NBA player tonight," Patsos explained. "Anybody else ever hold him scoreless? I'm a history major. They're going to remember that we held him scoreless or we lost by 30?"

Some will remember the catcalls Patsos received from the fans when he stuck with the defense well after the game was decided. Davidson coach Bob McKillop was so annoyed he kept Curry in the game until the final minute.

Back in 2003 before College Dropout was released, there were all kinds of bootlegs of Kanye material floating around. We honestly did not know which version of College Dropout was the right version until the album dropped in February 2004. This happened again in 2005 prior to Late Registration being released. A lot of the tracks that were on early releases of College Dropout ended up on “advanced” copies of Late Registration. Of course, none of them were on the official release. Kanye left a lot of songs on the cutting room floor. I have compiled most of what I could and what I know into this Unreleased compilation. A few of the beats have seen some form in one way or another. For instance, “Apologize” ended up being the beat for Monica’s “Knock, Knock” and “Wack Niggas” ended up on Consequence’s album with an added verse by Common. The last track is sort of a bonus. It’s not a Kanye beat, but more of a freestyle over Kelis‘ “Milkshake”. It was worth the inclusion though!

Sometimes I feel like we have tunnel vision and we fail to realize people hate the people we love, love the people we hate, go places we never go, drink what we never drink, etc. Like Barack Obama! The Top Ten Reasons Why Kanye West Is a Douche


Kanye West is a douche for many, many reasons, but it is easy to falter and find yourself thinking "Man, that Kanye's a pretty wicked dude". It happens to the best of us, we falter at times, but it shouldn't have to happen. I have narrowed the proofs of his douchiness down to a ten-point emergency checklist that folds easily into your pocket or wallet for those times when his blinding douchebaggery eludes you.

1. He douched out at the Grammy's when he took the stage to accept his award, refused to leave the stage when his time was up, and then actually told them to stop playing the get-off-the-stage music so that he could keep talking. Me Kanye. I bes vewy, vewy important.

2. His new album, due out on November 24th, is a departure from his usual style, as he sings more than he raps. That is all good and well, because he is a talented musician, but then he had to go and douche it up by saying that this change in style is an attempt to challenge the likes of Jimi Hendrix and Paul McCartney, who he describes as "those artists in black and white photos", because taking a crap on music legends serves to make Kanye's genius obvious to all and sundry.

3. In a recent interview, Kanye said, and I am not kidding: "I realize that my place and position in history is that I will go down as the voice of this generation, of this decade, I will be the loudest voice. It's me settling into that position of just really accepting that it's one thing to say you want to do it and it's another thing to really end up being like Michael Jordan."

4. In that same interview, he showcased his inveterate respect for other performers by slamming Justin Timberlake: "There were people who had the potential to do it but they went on vacation, so when Justin went on vacation I made albums, and it just came out to be that."

5. Kanye pulled the race card when it was announced that Britney Spears would be hosting the 2007 Video Music Awards. "I can’t believe she would perform. She hasn’t had a hit record in years. Maybe my money’s not right. Maybe my skin’s not right." Riiiiight, that's it.

6. In an interview with Tim Westwood, Kanye said "I'm doing pretty good as far as geniuses go... I'm like a machine. I'm a robot. You cannot offend a robot... I'm going down as a legend, whether or not you like me or not. I am the new Jim Morrison. I am the new Kurt Cobain... They feel like, yo, you know 'he's got a God complex, because he said if they wrote the Bible again that he would be in it'. Duh, yeah, I would be in it. I feel like I'm one of the more important people in pop culture right now... The Bible had 20, 30, 40, 50 characters in it. You don't think that I would be one of the characters of today's modern Bible? And people have their own forms of bibles now. It's a new day and age..."

7. In a display of extremely douchey poor sportsmanship, he now claims that the MTV awards shows are fixed, because how could the "voice of this generation" lose otherwise?

9. Kanye West blogs up a storm. Mostly he's fairly boring, but he drops these gems once in a while that turn being a douche into a spectator sport.

10. When his video for "Touch the Sky" did not win at the MTV Europe Music Awards, Kanye publicly expressed his incredulity. "It took a month to film; I stood on a mountain; I flew a helicopter over Vegas. I did it to be the king of all videos and I wanted to walk home with that award," he complained. Kanye? Whining about how you are not the most popular will not work to make you more popular, but it will get you a "Top Ten Reasons Why Kanye West Is a Douche" checklist. Congratulations.

it's not too late to join. should be just like the "We Believe" season for the Warriors except the Sharks are actually trying to win the Stanley Cup. they look impressive! their style is like the Golden State Warriors of hockey, except they play great defense. they have the best record in the NHL and aren't even with their full squad with Evgeni Nabokov and Torrey Mitchell out.

this team looks and feels different. they don't seem scared anymore and just are confident. the San Jose Sharks owners should run the Warriors' franchise too.

some of you might not like hockey, but it's pretty intense. the strategy between both teams is also interesting. also, hockey players are probably the greatest athletes because they have to skate on ice and need to have good hand eye feet coordination along with worrying about getting knocked out. Todd McLellan is bringing out the best in his players and putting them in position to be effective. Something the 49ers, Warriors, and Giants should do.

we'll see how they do in the playoffs, but damn. these guys are good. here's one of my favorite moments. 5 (Oilers) on 3 (Sharks) power play during the playoffs. the 2 defensemen end up losing their sticks. basically the Oilers should have scored. it's like Shaq getting swatted by Steve Nash.

Harrington for Crawford

I think I actually like this trade. Harrington was alright but he didn't want to play for us anyways. I think Crawford will come in and become rejuvinated since he has a career 33% winning percentage with the Knicks and Bulls and now he's actually on a good team. (Yea, Warriors are good!) Anyways, he already averages 20 points a game and I think he could score more now. I just hope he doesn't become a ballhog and keep Monta and Morrow from developing. But right now I approve this trade.

I understand sometimes you have to overpay for a player, but damn. they are overpaying for players that others don't even want. also, bye Chris Mullin.

the Warriors will continue to be a lottery team (horrible) until this management is out. they are idiots running an NBA team the wrong way. it seems like they are spending money on players just to kinda show the fans they are still trying to win. in reality, they're running this franchise to another 13 year playoff drought.

look at the 49ers of the 80s, they had Eddie DeBartolo Jr. and Carmen Policy lead a franchise to a dynasty. They hired the right coaches (Bill Walsh, George Seifert, and others) to lead and build a team with Hall of Famers in the coaching positions and players.

I believe the Warriors management are idiots. same goes for the 49ers. no one cares about the A's and Raiders.
